What color is it?
We start this blog with this first entry about working the topic of the colors with 3 years kids. We try to make our classes something creative and fun, do you want?
This first activity will last 15-20 minutes and we will work vocabulary, listening and speaking capacities. In this first class we will make a horseshoe around the teacher to see some flashcards about colors. We will show them flashcards one by one repeating the name of the color that we can see in the flashcard. Then, kids will tell us more things of that color. And we will continue there with all colors (red,blue,black,green,white,yellow...).

Later, we will do a TPR (Total Physical Response) activity. In these kind of activities children respond to the teacher´s questions by physical and no-verbal response. Thus we respect their silence period.
For this activity we will make a circle in the center of the classroom and the teacher will say "you have to touch a RED/YELLOW/BROWN object " and kids have to go to a object with this color. With this kind of activities we will get that the children are motivated with the task.

ResponderEliminarCongratulations for your blog! You provided great ideas and resources for English teachers. The different activities are explained in detailed, so it’s easier to put them into practice. Apart from that, you included activities and games that cover the different skills. I’m sure that kids will have so much fun when carrying out those activities.
I really like the TPR game because children learn by doing. So, with this game, the kids will have the opportunity to learn while playing a funny and motivating game.

ResponderEliminarPersonally I think you have a lot of abilities to create a children blog, it is colorful and very original because you have a lot of resources, and of course your text ´s motivation.
I touch it to my nephew, he is 4 years old and he wished play and play with it, I asked him about what was the most important and he answered the Peppa Pig video and also the entry about parent´s jobs because he wished this activity in his class.

Maybe some games can be add to your blog. Some JClic, Hot Potatoes, some puzzle with puzzlemaker, webquest... Your blog can be more complete, althought it´s fantastic!
It´s a little uncomfortable than when you click on your activities' blog you go to that page leaving the blog, maybe is better it's open a new window becasue you can't go back to the blog. Where can we see the lables? I don,t know where are, I Know we have to put it but I don´t know where can we find it.
