FOODS!!

HELLO FRIENDS!!!

In this new entry we will work the appetizing topic of the foods!!! We can use this idea to work with 4 and 5 years kids!! We will finish this project making a menu for our preschool partners!!! Amazing experience!!!

First of all, we will do these activities before the Christhmas holidays because in the last day of class before that days we will make a picnic for our partners. In the first lesson we will watch a video about Peppa Pig in the supermarket and we will speak about the foods we can do see in the video. (tomato, spaghetti, watermelon, oranges...)

In the second class, we will make a circle in the floor and we will show them some flashcards about foods and we will repeat their names to memorize. The flashcards will be the followings:

In the third class each kid will have to choose his or her favourite food and they will have to paint and colour this food with the names of these foods.

And in the last class, we will make a picnic for our partners with fruit salads, snacks, cookies, juices...

This activity can be an amazing experience!!!! Try it!!!

What´s the job of your parents?

In this new entry we will work the topic of the jobs with 5 years children. We will work this topic because the police and the postman of the village will visit us!!! It will be a great experience!!!

In these activities we will work speaking, reading, writing and listening capacities with children.This activity wiil consist of 4 classes of 20 minutes.

 Firstly, we will speak about what kind of jobs we know with kids during 4-5 minutes. Later, we will go to the computer room and children will have to search a printable image about their parents jobs in "google images". For example, a child will search for an image of a carpenter, another child an image of a plumber... and they will have to print these pictures.

In the second and third classes, each child will colour his or her picture and write the name of the job in the paper. When they have finished painting their pictures, they will paste this images in a big cardboard. When all of them have finished we will have a "OUR PARENTS JOBS CARDBOARD"´ and we will hang the mural on the wall of the classroom to decorate our class for the visit of the policeman and the postman. And this mural could be something similar to the following:

And in the last class, we will be visited by the postman and by the police and we will ask them all of our doubts about their jobs. It will be amazing experience for our kids!!! Try it!!!

Let´s learn to count!!!!

LET´S LEARN TO COUNT!!!

In this third entry we will work the numbers until 10 combined with a lot of vocabulary with 4 years class. This activity will consist of three 15 minutes classes in we will work speaking, listening, writing and reading capacities. We have to try to use English language in others subjects and with this activity we will work maths in English. It will be a new challenge for our kids!!!

First of all we will start this activity telling a story to our kids. We can use a lot of different stories to learn to count, so choose one!! I choose "How do dinosaurs count to ten?" to tell them because with the topic of the dinosaurs we can easily motivate our students. We will read the story and, after that, we will speak about the story with our kids reviewing the numbers.

In the second class we will do some activities where we will combine numbers with a lot of interesting vocabulary in English for our kids. The activities colud be the followings:

In the last class, we will play with numbers and we will go to the gym of the school and we will play the game of tissue with the numbers 1 to 10.

What´s the weather like today?

In this second class we will work the very interesting topic of the weather!! This activity is great for the first weeks of the school year because we have to continue this activity during a year.With this task we will work  capacities like listening and speaking with 3 or 4 years preschool class.

 The first step in this activity is to go outside every English class during a week to see the weather and speak about that during some minutes. (Today is sunny because...)

After this week we will make a horseshoe around the projector and we will listen and see a video-song about the weather and we will sing this sometimes repeating the most important words (it´s sunny, it´s cloudy, it´s rainy...). 

Later, the teacher will make a cardboard like the following and , in this cardboard, all days before start English class one child will put the correct picture in each day of the week. The rest of the children will help their friend if it will be necessary.

With this activity we will achieve that our kids learn different kinds of the weather in English during a school year. Try it!!!!

What color is it?

What color is it?

We start this blog with this first entry about working the topic of the colors with 3 years kids. We try to make our classes something creative and fun, do you want?

This first activity will last 15-20 minutes and we will work vocabulary, listening and speaking capacities. In this first class we will make a horseshoe around the teacher to see some flashcards about colors. We will show them flashcards one by one repeating the name of the color that we can see in the flashcard. Then, kids will tell us more things of that color. And we will continue there with all colors (red,blue,black,green,white,yellow...).

Later, we will do a TPR (Total Physical Response) activity. In these kind of activities children respond to the teacher´s questions by physical and no-verbal response. Thus we respect their silence period. 




For this activity we will make a circle in the center of the classroom and the teacher will say "you have to touch a RED/YELLOW/BROWN object " and kids have to go to a object with this color. With this kind of activities we will get that the children are motivated with the task.
